1 If Excel2003 is not open, open it in order to perform the exercise. 2 Open the Initial Fruit sales workbook found in the Exercises folder of the course. 3 Select the range B5:H12 . 4 Go to the Format menu. 5 Select the Cells... option. 6 Click on the Number tab if it is not already activated. 7 Click on the Number option. More options will appear in the part to the right. 8 In the Decimal places box, click on the upward arrow till it shows 2 (for 2 decimals). It can also be written directly in the box. 9 Click on OK. Although the whole range is seen with 2 decimals, the contents of the cell are the same as before, and we have only changed the way we visualize the cell. 10 Select the range H5:H12. 11 Go to the Format menu. 12 Select the Cells... option. 13 Clic on the Number tab if it is not already activated. 14 Clic on the Number option in the Category box. 15 Activate the Use 1000 seperator box. 16 Clic on OK. 17 Select the range H5:H12 . 18 Go to the Format menu. 19 Select the Cells... option. 20 Click on the Number tab if it is not already activated. 21 Select the Currency option in the Category box. 22 In the Decimal positions box, click on the upward arrow till it reaches 2 (for 2 decimals) If the € symbol is not here, insert it. 23 Click on OK. The Percentage symbol is also a format or aspect of the numbers. 24 Select cell B11 . 25 Go to the Format menu. 26 Select the Cells... option. 27 Click on the Number tab if it is not already activated. 28 Click on the General option in the Category box. 29 Click on OK. 30 Select cell B11 if not already selected. 31 Clic on the 32 Save the workbook with the same name as before. 33 Close the workbook. |
