We are going to test more availible options in the Format cells/Alignment dialogue box. 1 Start a new workbook. 2 Write This is an alignment test in cell A1. As this text does not fit in cell A1,occupy A1, B1, and C1. 3 Select cell A1 . 4 Go to the Format menu. 5 Select the Cells... option. 6 Click on the Alignment tab, only if you are not already in it. 7 Click on Adjust text. 8 Click on OK. 9 Select cell A1 if not already selected. 10 Go to the Format menu. 11 Select the Cells... option. 12 Click on the Alignment tab, only if you are not already in it. 13 Click on the Wrap text option to deactivate it. 14 Click on OK. 15 Select cell A1 if not already selected. 16 Go to the Format menu. 17 Select the Cells... option. 18 Click on the Alignment tab, only if you are not already in it. 19 Click on the Shrink to fit option. 20 Click on OK. 21 Select cell A1 if not already selected. 22 Go to the Format menu. 23 Select the Cells... option. 24 Click on the Alignment tab, only if you are not already in it. 25 Click on the Shrink to fit option to deactivate it. 26 Click on OK. The text will return to its previous alignment. 27 Write Merge in cell A4. 28 Select the range A4:B5. 29 Go to the Format menu. 30 Select the Cells... option. 31 Click on the Alignment tab, only if you are not already in it. 32 Click on the Merge option. 33 Click on OK. 34 Select the cell is you are not already in it. 35 Go to the Format menu. 36 Select the Cells... option. 37 Click on the Alignment tab, only if you are not already in it. If we now want to center it horizontally: 40 Select the cell if you are not already in it. 41 Click on the 42 Close the workbook without saving the changes.
